- Department of War (DoW) Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) scholarship program pays tuition and provides key internships for students in community colleges up to the doctoral degree level. For every year of supported study, SMART scholars serve one year as a paid employee at the sponsoring DoW organization. The program is open to all U.S. citizens.
