The MDA Director of Public Affairs serves as the principal advisor to the MDA Director for planning, coordinating, facilitating, and implementing public affairs strategies, policies, and programs for the organization. In this role, the staff provides support in three key areas: Public Information and Media Relations, Community Relations, and Internal Communication.

Missile Defense Agency, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Complete Successful ASEV Integration Testing

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA), in partnership with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), successfully conducted the first live target tracking exercise using the SPY-7 radar during Japan Flight Test Experiment Aegis Weapon System (JFTX)-01, which took place March 17 and 19 off the East Coast of the United States.


Israel and U.S. Successfully Complete Series of David's Sling Tests

The Israel Missile Defense Organization (IMDO), together with the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA), successfully completed a test series of the David's Sling Weapon System, designed to intercept various threats including rockets, missiles, cruise missiles, aircraft and UAVs. The test series, built on operational lessons learned from combat over the past two years, included a variety of scenarios aligned with current and future threats.


Record of Decision for the Enhanced Integrated Air and Missile Defense System on Guam Environmental Impact Statement

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA), as the lead agency, and the U.S. Army, as a cooperating agency, jointly issued a Record of Decision (ROD) to implement the construction, deployment, and operations and maintenance of the Enhanced Integrated Air and Missile Defense (EIAMD) system on Guam. The action will enable MDA and the U.S. Army to meet their congressional mandate for a persistent 360-degree layered Integrated Air and Missile Defense capability on Guam to address the rapid evolution of missile threats from regional adversaries. In addition to the U.S. Army, the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) participated as cooperating agencies in the development of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) due to their jurisdiction or special expertise as it pertains to certain components of the action or for potentially affected operations and resources.


David's Sling Air and Missile Defense System Successfully Completes Advanced Upgrade Tests

The Israel Missile Defense Organization (IMDO) and the U.S. Missile Defense Agency successfully completed a series of developmental flight tests of the David’s Sling Weapon System in July.

The scenarios simulated future threats, enhancing the system's capabilities and significantly improving the system capabilities to face the variety of threats in the various combat arenas of the IDF. These successful tests represent another significant breakthrough in upgrading the system, which has already demonstrated high operational capabilities during the Swords of Iron War and Operation Rising Lion, with successful operational interceptions that saved lives and prevented substantial damage.
