Public Meetings

Draft EIS Phase

To comply with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and to further the involvement opportunity under the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and cooperating agencies held three in-person public meetings on Guam. The meetings were in an open-house format and included poster stations staffed by MDA and representatives of the cooperating agencies who provided information and answered questions about the Proposed Action and the findings of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement. Attendees were able to submit official oral and written comments during the public meetings. Oral comments from the public were recorded by a court reporter in a one-on-one setting. Equal weight was given to oral and written statements.
